The "Spreadsheet" is Dead?

WARNING! If you are still passing important company information and records around by spreadsheet, your data is in grave danger, .. your business is in grave danger.

Dictionary.com defines the spreadsheet as “an accounting or bookkeeping program that displays data in rows and columns on a screen”. Of course, it has become more than that to many of us over the past 27+ years (yes, it has been that long). It has served its purpose and been a faithful friend and workhorse to many small businesses.

However, with the advent of the Internet and ever-increasing customer expectations for quick response and immediate access to real-time information, we must move on. Data needs to be on-line, secure, and accessible to all appropriate end users, be they internal or external to the business.
